About Tangential Fan

Tangential fans (also known as cross flow fans) use a unique long cylindrical impeller with forward-curved blades rotating within a narrow housing to produce a wide, flat airflow pattern perpendicular to the fan axis. Unlike axial fans that blow air parallel to their axis or centrifugal fans that blow radially outward, tangential fans create a rectangular airflow that is much wider than the fan diameter — an ideal characteristic for applications requiring uniform coverage across a wide plane. The most popular tangential fan application is air curtains: thin streams of high-velocity air blown across building entrances to form invisible barriers that prevent warm air escaping (or cold air entering) retail stores, restaurants, and commercial buildings. Tangential fans also power window-type air conditioners, portable purifiers, dehumidifiers, and convection heaters. Key specification parameters: impeller length (determines airflow width), airflow volume, operating voltage (AC or DC), and noise level.
