About Tangential Fans

Tangential fans — sometimes catalogued simply as tangential blowers — represent a specialised fan category producing wide, flat airflow suitable for applications requiring uniform air distribution across a plane much broader than the fan diameter. In industrial and commercial contexts, tangential fans excel at air curtain installations (invisible air barriers across loading docks and retail entrances), forced-convection ovens and dryers, wide-duct HVAC supply plenums, and electronic enclosures requiring side-to-side temperature uniformity. Compared with axial fans, tangential models move less air per unit of power but deliver far superior flow uniformity across their output width. Compared with centrifugal fans, they produce lower static pressure but occupy a more compact rectangular footprint.
