About AC Centrifugal Fan

AC centrifugal fans (also called AC centrifugal blowers) use AC induction motors to drive impellers that accelerate air radially outward, creating significantly higher static pressures than axial fans can achieve. This makes them essential for applications requiring air to be pushed through ductwork, filters, or heat exchangers with substantial pressure drop. AC centrifugal fans come in two primary configurations: forward-curved impellers for high airflow at moderate pressure, and backward-curved impellers for higher efficiency and pressure capability. They are used extensively in HVAC air handling units with long duct runs, industrial dust collection systems, fume extraction, combustion air supply for boilers and furnaces, and air curtain systems. Important selection parameters include fan curve matching to system resistance, motor power rating, impeller diameter, and construction material (galvanized steel, stainless steel, or plastic).
